Some people have asked, “I can’t give very much to the Building Campaign right now. Why should I pledge?” Every pledge made shows support for the project; and, right now, every new pledge or gift will be MATCHED BY AN ANONYMOUS DONOR UP TO $10,000.00.
If you pledge to give up the equivalent of one Big Mac ($3.70) a week, it would be $192 a year. With the matching money, that’s $1,154 for a three-year pledge. If nine families pledge the equivalent of one Big Mac a week for three years, with the match, we’d have $10,000. If a family gave the equivalent of one pizza ($8.75) a week, that’s $455 a year, or, with the matching gift, $1,560. Just imagine, if five families pledged the equivalent of one pizza per week, with the matching money, we’d have another $13,650.
Every little bit counts. While we won’t hold anyone to a pledge if circumstances change, without a pledge, it is difficult to build a basic budget and begin the project. So, if you haven’t yet pledged to the Building Campaign for 2009, please consider even a small amount. So that we may receive the matching money for all new pledges and gifts, please mark your envelope “new pledge or gift” when making a contribution.

A building program is an exciting and challenging time in the life of a church. As Christians we are called both to act in faith, knowing that God will provide, and to be good, careful stewards of those resources He has placed in our care. Balancing these responsibilities can be difficult as a church grows. Fortunately Saint Andrew has been blessed with a supportive congregation and valuable experience gained from Phase One of our expansion. The following questions and answers are the first in a series we will be publishing in order to keep you informed about the direction of our building campaign. We hope that you will also take a moment to jot down any questions you might have and drop them in the box in the parlor or pass them along to Rev. Sandell. We’ll try to provide an answer and add them to future publications — anonymously, of course.
Why are we considering additional expansion?
